T-Minus 8 Weeks, and Counting
9 months used to seem like such a long time. I can remember as a kid that there were a few school years that dragged on forever. 9 months was an eternity then. Now, it seems like just yesterday that Rebecca and I found out we were pregnant. Part of me can’t believe our child will be born in less than a couple of months. This disbelief quickly fades, however, when I watch the external signs of the in-utro gymnastics that occur every evening. The baby is now thanking Rebecca for almost every meal with an impromptu cartwheel or summersault.
The past couple of weeks have been surprisingly busy. It is taking some effort for me to relax and enjoy the time off. I guess I am just out of practice.
To the chagrin of many, I am now the proud owner of a motorcycle. It took a bit of research to figure out which ride would be the best for my first bike. I love the look of a cruiser, but the extra weight and lower performance turned me off. Sport bikes are pretty sweet. Most of them are too powerful for my current skill level, though, and the riding position is usually designed for a younger butt than mine. That’s why I decided to go with a “street fighter / naked” motorcycle. This style offers performance, reasonable comfort, and a fairly unique look. After much research, I opted for a Suzuki SV650. The Honda 599 was my first choice, but a new 2003 SV650 was too good of a deal to pass up.
Be careful you'll shoot your eye out
