Scenes from a Busy August
July may have been a slow month for us, but we made up for this with a ton of activities and trips in August. There were so many pictures to go through from August that I actually skipped ahead to post September and October first. Some of the highlights from this month include:
- Hannah and Noah making pizzas together, with a little help from Mommy.
- Fun at the annual neighborhood Block Party by Babcia and Dziadzia, complete with a tour of a firetruck and a visit by a police dog.
- A mid-summer trip to the Brookfield Zoo, complete with photos of the baby Polar Bear.
- Rockin’ out with a free Ralph’s World concert at the Zoo. Ralph’s World songs make up a big percentage of the musical playlist for the kids, so the concert was a huge hit.
- A visit to a local County fair, complete with dozens of spinning, nausea-inducing rides.
- Bouncing fun in Moonjumps and other inflatables.
- And a close encounter with a family of Ducks by one of the lakes in our neighborhood.

Emma and Henry love the CD (Green Monster) that y'all got them last year. What are your other favorites? I never even thought to look for more music. Gosh darn internet!
Posted by: Marla at January 22, 2008 11:35 PMRalph is very consistent, so they would probably like any of his other CDs. There is also a "Welcome to Ralph's World" CD that includes songs from all 6 releases. We know have all of his releases and we're planning to see him in concert again the next time he comes around.
Some of their other favorites include They Might Be Giants (for kids), Dan Zanes, Elizabeth Mitchell, the "For The Kids" collections, and lots of artists that they have been exposed to with childrens' films like Stevie Wonder (Happy Feet) and Coldplay (The Wild).
The music from Disney films are pretty popular at the house. I picked up a 5-CD box set of Disney music on Amazon.
