Bangs, Bumps, and Boo Boos
I do not really recall March being an especially physical month, but the photos from a couple of months ago clearly show that there were plenty of bruises to go around.
The very first photos show our Golden Retriever a few days after a hip surgery. Madison was diagnosed with acute canine hip dysplasia when he was a puppy and had both hips operated on shortly after his first birthday. The total hip replacement on his left hip was an amazing device, but 10 years of running and chasing countless tennis balls took their toll on it. We noticed that Madison was limping in early January and visits to several specialists made it clear that the total hip replacement would have to be surgically removed. A bad infection in the bone made it impossible for the surgeon to replace the replacement, so he had to use a femoral head ostectomy instead. Madison did well in the surgery and has recovered quite well.
On the other end of the spectrum, I have also included some shots of Noah with various shades of a black eye. He fell and hit the edge of a coffee table on Easter Sunday and was black and blue for the next week. The first night scared the pants off us since he developed a big, blue goose egg by his temple, but he was playing happily the next day.
While I focused on the bumps and bruises, the majority of the photos from March are of us celebrating Easter with family and friends. We had a great time enjoying the holiday with everyone.
That is quite the shiner! I would have been milking that thing for all it was worth but it sounds like Noah hasn't learned that skill yet :)
